Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams said he is not afraid of plagiarizing a good idea, and he admitted in an interview last week he’s stealing an idea from a predecessor — launching a program in which the city’s law firms can donate an associate to work for the District Attorney’s Office.
Williams, who has been in office for nine months, said that U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter, who was Philadelphia district attorney from 1966 to 1974, gave him a lot of advice as Williams made the transition from DA-elect to DA in fact. One of Specter’s suggestions was the revival of a program he had from his tenure in the office, Williams said.
