The Pro Bono Institute has selected DLA Piper as this year’s John H. Pickering Award winner for “outstanding commitment” to pro bono service. The award will be presented at the institutes’ annual dinner at Gotham Hall on Nov. 4. DLA Piper was singled out for its “exceptional pro bono culture, including signature projects aimed at addressing a broad range of social problems and helping the most vulnerable members of society,” the institute said in a statement.

Through New Perimeter, the DLA Piper’s non-profit affiliate dedicated to global pro bono work, the firm addresses issues in developing and post-conflict countries around the world. At home, DLA Piper’s projects focus on education, hunger relief, juvenile justice, access to justice, domestic violence, serving veterans and heirs’ property.
