Pittsburgh-based Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott has brought back an old member to head up its real estate group while naming a relatively new member co-chair of its intellectual property practice.

On Nov. 1, Stephen I. Burr, who led Eckert Seamans’ corporate practice from 1991 until he left the firm in 1999, rejoined the Boston office as chair of the firmwide real estate practice group.
