A federal judge has pressured Joseph Francis, founder of the “Girls Gone Wild” franchise, to turn over a document this week in order to resolve possible criminal contempt charges before the end of this year.

Terry Bird, a partner at Los Angeles-based Bird, Marella, Boxer, Wolpert, Nessim, Drooks & Lincenberg, who began representing Francis in June, told U.S. District Judge James Otero during a hearing on Monday that his client and federal prosecutors had agreed that Francis would turn over by Jan. 31 a document that violated a court protective order.
