NEW YORK — A law enforcement official says the son of an Academy Award-winning songwriter is being questioned by police after a woman was found dead in his posh Manhattan hotel room.
The official says Nicholas Brooks was not at the Soho House hotel room when police arrived at around 3 a.m. Thursday, but returned a few hours later. The official was not authorized to speak publicly and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.
