On April 7, a new, potentially far-reaching law — the Adult Protective Services Act — will take effect in Pennsylvania.
The law is intended to assist adults who lack the capacity to protect themselves and are at imminent risk of abuse, neglect, exploitation or abandonment and must have access to services necessary to protect their health, safety and welfare.
