For pharmaceutical companies, going up against David Frederick of Kellogg Huber Hansen Todd Evans & Figel at the U.S. Supreme Court has been a bitter pill — until Tuesday.

Fortified by a strong oral argument from Kathleen Sullivan of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan last October, and some interesting recusal actions by the justices, Wyeth LLC pulled off a major 6-2 win in a battle against Frederick over vaccine liability in the case of Bruesewitz v. Wyeth .
