I was with a lawyer the other day who noted his numerous campaign contributions made to the local and statewide appellate judicial candidates and stated he has a good relationship with those judges. I have heard other lawyers note their friendship with judges. Is this appropriate for a lawyer to mention or say those kinds of things?
Lawyers, like everyone else, certainly have a First Amendment right to talk about their relationship with or how they know a judge.
