When William H. Brown III was in junior high school in Philadelphia, he was quite decent with sheet metal work. So when his friend Robert Nix Jr.’s mother, Ethel, asked him what he’d like to be when he grew up, his answer was obvious.
“She said, ‘Have you ever thought about using your brain instead?’” said Brown.
