Remember those ubiquitous MasterCard ads that came out a couple of years ago? In each ad, a silky voiced actor read off a list of items and their cost, adding up to an experience that was “priceless.” The overall theme of the ad was that the literal cost of those items was worth it for the experience.

At Philadelphia Volunteers for the Indigent Program, better known as VIP, we feel the same way about volunteers who choose to spend their “free” time helping one of our many clients. Although there is a price tag on the cost of time to volunteer for lawyers and paralegals, the rewarding experience is priceless to both our clients and our volunteers. That is the impact of saying yes.
