Transfer to Adult Court in Pennsylvania

A panel of the Superior Court of Pennsylvania earlier this month held that a Lawrence County adult criminal court erred by compelling 11-year old murder suspect, Jordan Brown, to admit guilt in order to have his case transferred to juvenile court. (In Pennsylvania, anyone charged with murder, regardless of age, is deemed to be an “adult,” with proceedings beginning in criminal court.)
