Clifford E. Haines, attorney for former Philadelphia Housing Authority Executive Director Carl Greene, sent letters to five area law firm leaders Friday asking whether they have ever represented Greene in his individual capacity.

The letters were sent as part of Greene’s efforts to stop the PHA from releasing to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development unredacted legal bills related to $38 million in legal work those firms and one other provided since 2007.
