Blank Rome has officially opened a Shanghai office after receiving a license from China’s Ministry of Justice in late March allowing the firm to open a foreign representative office in the city.
The firm has long had plans of expanding its China footprint after entering Hong Kong in 2006 through its merger with Healy & Baillie. Blank Rome partner Henry Kuller has spent 16 months in Hong Kong, serving as the firm’s liaison to that office and working to help open the Shanghai location. He will now serve as its managing partner, splitting his time between Shanghai and Hong Kong.
