A federal judge ruled the Philadelphia Housing Authority may hand over to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development unredacted legal bills from three law firms in relation to HUD’s investigation of approximately $38 million in legal spending by the PHA since 2007.

The PHA’s former executive director, Carl Greene, had asked U.S. District Court Judge Anita Brody to issue a temporary restraining order stopping the PHA from turning over the bills because he feared some of the bills may detail privileged attorney-client communication involving litigation against Greene in his individual capacity that could put him at a disadvantage in future litigation.
