With rising prices and the growing number of unscrupulous businesses, it seems that consumers can’t catch a break these days. The recent Supreme Court decision in AT&T Mobility v. Concepcion is, unfortunately, the latest challenge to consumers seeking a fair deal from the corporations they do business with.

By now, you may have read about the court’s decision to enforce class action waiver provisions, and thereby reverse the common practice of many states (including Pennsylvania) to find such provisions unconscionable. The impact of this ruling reaches much further than it may seem at first glance. Essentially, the court’s decision has eliminated an entire methodology for dispute resolution and will impact all future dealings between businesses and consumers.
