The First Judicial District has initiated a legal malpractice action against law firm Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel, as well as ex-Obermayer Rebmann partner Jeffrey B. Rotwitt, over the dual role Rotwitt played in the development of a new Philadelphia family courthouse.

While The Legal reported last December that the FJD was in settlement talks with Obermayer Rebmann, it appears that the fallout over Rotwitt’s, as well as Obermayer Rebmann’s role, in developing the family court is going to go to litigation over the court’s claims that Rotwitt breached his duty of “undivided professional loyalty” to the FJD.
