Since 2001, of the 29 state judges charged by the Judicial Conduct Board to receive sanctions from the Court of Judicial Discipline, 13 judges have been removed from office. The charges brought against those judges ranged from illegal gambling operations, to extortion, to sexual assault.

In a colorful decade of judicial misconduct, other cases highlight publicly drunken behavior, stalking, publicly fighting and flashing a handgun during road rage. More recently, Lancaster County Magisterial District Judge Isaac H. Stoltzfus avoided sanctions after allegations surfaced he was filling hollowed-out acorns with unwrapped condoms and distributing them to female state employees.
