Roosevelt Hairston Jr., convicted earlier this year of embezzling $1.7 million from the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, was sentenced Wednesday afternoon to 48 months in prison.

U.S. District Court Judge Lawrence Stengel of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania said the former general counsel of the hospital failed in his oath as an attorney to foster respect for the law.
