Now that the Pennsylvania appellate court races have been decided, appellate lawyers across the state said the incoming judges will bring a mix of somewhat progressive views and familiar experience to their respective benches.

Willow Grove, Pa.-based appellate lawyer Howard J. Bashman, who writes an appellate column for The Legal Intelligencer , said Democrat David M. Wecht, an Allegheny County Common Pleas Court judge who won a spot on the Superior Court bench earlier this month, will bring to the bench his strong views in favor of greater transparency within the court.
