A pair of recent resignations in the state Department of Environmental Protection has prompted some attorneys and industry watchers to cry foul, while others insist the personnel changes are par for the course after a change in the gubernatorial administration.
According to a report by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette , the July resignation of longtime regional counsel Diana Stares from the agency’s Southwestern Pennsylvania office and the subsequent November resignation of her successor, William Darr, following the revelation that he has financial ties to a major coal and natural gas producer, hurt agency morale statewide.
