Allegations of exorbitant overdraft fees fit within the narrow scope of state law claims that can be heard in federal court, a federal judge ruled last week.

A class action suit against National Penn Bank should not be remanded to state court because the statute regulating bank fees is federal, U.S. District Judge Stewart Dalzell of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania ruled in Collier v. National Penn Bank .
