A West Virginia judge has ordered a priest who presided over the canonical trial of his colleague to appear as a witness in the ongoing Catholic Archdiocese of Philadelphia sex-abuse trial.

Monsignor Kevin Quirk, who was the presiding judge over the canonical trial of the Rev. James J. Brennan, was fighting the attempt by the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office to compel his testimony in the trial against Brennan and another co-defendant.
