In what is shaping up to be a busy session, the state Supreme Court is set to open up two days of oral arguments today in Harrisburg, hearing a nearly 20-year-old class action suit against H&R Block — for the third time — over the way it administered its now-defunct “Rapid Refund” program.

In another case of interest, the justices were set to hear a minority shareholders rights lawsuit that, following a decision from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, prompted an outcry from outcry from Governor Tom Corbett and several business groups. The federal appeals court vacated its own decision and certified the question to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court last fall.
