Suspended state Supreme Court Justice Joan Orie Melvin has gone outside of Allegheny County to hire a defense attorney to represent her on nine criminal charges related to her alleged use of judicial staff to run for the high court.
According to a docket entry in Orie Melvin’s case last week, Scranton-based Patrick A. Casey of Myers Brier & Kelly has entered his appearance on her behalf.
