When Citi Private Bank’s Law Firm Group announced its midyear report on law firm financial health earlier this month, the bank’s analysts said they were concerned trouble was looming.

That omen may be slightly darker for Pennsylvania firms, whose numbers for the first half of 2012 compared to the first half of 2011 were not as robust as their national counterparts. However, Citi’s Philadelphia-based director Lisa M. Kohut said there is reason to see some signs of hope in otherwise lackluster numbers.
