The state Superior Court has upheld a murder conviction and sentence in a case where defense counsel’s allegations against the trial judge have at times seemed to overshadow the crime itself.

Washington County attorney Noah Geary, who represents convicted murderer Gerald Szakal, has repeatedly said that Washington County Court of Common Pleas President Judge Debbie O’Dell Seneca ordered her court stenographer to alter the trial transcripts in order to justify her rulings.
