Shortly after the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas was required to reduce its complement of senior judges by the same number of judges confirmed to fill vacancies on the common pleas bench, the senior judges were restored because of various staffing needs in the court.

Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Judge John W. Herron, administrative judge of the trial division, said the restoration was “really serendipitous.”
