The state Supreme Court has affirmed a Court of Judicial Discipline decision to remove an Allentown magisterial district judge after she called out of court 116 times in a two-year stretch.
The unanimous court decided Friday that Maryesther S. Merlo, an attorney, brought her judicial office into disrepute by missing more than 30 percent of her workdays over two years, and by consistently showing up to court late.
