Following is a listing of executive and legislative action for the week of August 5. Members of the General Assembly are scheduled to return to session on September 23.

House and Senate

Speaker of the House of Representatives Sam Smith, R-Jefferson, said in a memo to his caucus members that he intends to introduce two bills this fall, one that would reduce the number of seats in the House from 203 to 153 and one that would reduce Senate seats from 50 to 38.
