The six-month deadline to file claims under the amended Mechanic’s Lien Law applies to all mechanic’s lien claims, including those filed before the amendment became effective, the state Superior Court has ruled.

A three-judge panel ruled unanimously that the York County Court of Common Pleas in Hogg Construction v. Yorktowne Medical Centre erred in applying the pre-amendment four-month deadline in relation to Hogg Construction’s filing of a lien.
