The legal job market is still in crisis. Stories about inflated law salaries have been replaced with tales of woe chronicling an oversaturated market swarmed annually by mobs of debt-strapped recent graduates. While the debate over legal education and a changing legal market rages on, thousands of unemployed law school graduates nationally are focused on finding a job in a very competitive market. The key for job seekers is to stand out from the pack, land an interview and secure a paid position.
A question may arise whether job success comes from pure effort and skill or serendipitous luck and circumstance. I believe both answers have merit. Ultimately, you can exploit those variables within your control to make your own luck and put yourself in a position where things will eventually go your way.
