The District Attorney’s Office of Philadelphia is seeking to appeal the state Superior Court’s decision to overturn the conviction of Monsignor William Lynn.

The petition for allowance of appeal before the state Supreme Court was filed Tuesday. Lynn, who was the first Catholic Church administrative official convicted of endangering the welfare of children abused by other priests, was released from prison Jan. 7.
