The state Supreme Court has dismissed the appeal of a deceased Philadelphia city councilwoman who claimed she was defamed when newspapers published political cartoons and opinion pieces criticizing her public activities.

On Wednesday, the justices granted a motion to dismiss the case filed by the executors of former Philadelphia City Councilwoman Joan Krajewski’s estate. Krajewski died Aug. 29, 2013, the same day the high court granted allocatur in the case.
