A federal judge signaled her reluctance to allow plaintiffs to opt out of a settlement with DuPont now that the deadline has passed.

U.S. District Judge Gene E.K. Pratter of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, who granted final approval of the settlement in October, denied the motion filed by Pilgrim Village Associates to allow it to extend the deadline for it to opt out of the settlement. The original deadline was June 28, 2013, but DuPont agreed to allow opt-out requests until the final fairness hearing Sept. 27, 2013, according to the opinion. Pilgrim Village filed its request Nov. 20, 2013.
