The state Supreme Court will let stand a decision tossing a case against several attorneys and their firms after the state Superior Court found that the action lacked the proper certificates of merit because the case dealt with legal malpractice, and not wrongful use of civil proceedings.
A three-judge Superior Court panel ruled Oct. 4, 2013, to uphold the trial court’s decision dismissing three attorneys and two firms from a case brought by two attorneys. Among other charges, the suit alleged intentional interference with a contractual relationship and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
