This column is for civil practitioners whose professional or corporate clients become involved in a Pennsylvania state grand jury investigation. A Pennsylvania investigating grand jury is a complex institution, and the law governing it is developing and not uniformly applied. As in all grand jury matters, it cannot be overstated that civil counsel must engage a criminal lawyer who has expertise in grand jury matters.
