A Lebanon County construction company that was sued by an undocumented worker who was crushed by two steel beams that fell off a forklift while loading a truck has settled the case for $1 million.

Maura Buildings Inc. settled April 3 the claims brought against it by Ariel Salazar Acosta. Additional defendant Juan Calleros—the forklift operator—was off the hook for any portion of the settlement, according to Salazar’s attorney, Charles Schleifer of Haggerty, Goldberg, Schleifer & Kupersmith.
