The First Judicial District has projected a slight decrease in new mass tort filings in Philadelphia’s court system, according to the most recent court statistics.

The projected decrease continues a trend of overall decline in mass tort filings since 2011. The statistics indicate that as of April, 314 new cases were filed. The FJD predicts that an additional 494 will be filed by year’s end, bringing the total to 808 filings, five less than the 813 filed in 2013.
