The largest controversy to come from the report reviewing the investigation of serial child molester and former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky deals with something that was not mentioned in the report. Attorneys who spoke with The Legal on Tuesday focused their concerns on claims that Attorney General Kathleen Kane made Monday during a press conference following the release of the report, in which she said that two individuals reported being abused by Sandusky in the fall of 2009—months after the Attorney General’s Office began investigating the case in March 2009.
The 166-page report, written by special investigator H. Geoffrey Moulton Jr., indicated that senior leadership at the Attorney General’s Office under Gov. Tom Corbett failed to promptly investigate and charge the former Penn State assistant football coach in 2009 and 2010. But those who spoke with The Legalsaid they were surprised that the report did not mention the claimed victims from 2009.
