After questions arose from former state prosecutors and the Pennsylvania State Police commissioner regarding two victims of Jerry Sandusky being abused in late 2009, state Attorney General Kathleen Kane has indicated she misspoke.
During a press conference held Monday following the release of a report detailing the investigation of the serial child molester and former Penn State assistant football coach, Kane said two victims came forward in 2011 stating that they had been abused in late 2009, months after the Attorney General’s Office began investigating Sandusky in March 2009. Kane indicated Monday that the two victims were not part of the 2012 trial that eventually led to Sandusky’s conviction and suggested that if the prosecution of Sandusky had been more aggressive, the additional abuse might not have occurred.
