As part of an effort to add muscle to the firm, Nelson Levine de Luca & Hamilton has hired a longtime Harleysville Insurance senior official as the new executive vice president and chief operations and strategic officer.

The Blue Bell, Pa.-based insurance law firm announced Monday that Kevin Toth had been appointed to the position to oversee day-to-day global business operations and to help guide the firm’s strategic direction and growth. Toth, who will work out of the firm’s Philadelphia and New York offices, worked at Harleysville Insurance for nearly 10 years in positions including senior vice president and chief underwriting officer, and regional vice president of Mid-Atlantic operations. Toth was also named to serve as Harleysville’s senior operating executive after the company’s president and chief operating officer retired in May.
