A western Pennsylvania solar panel manufacturer that filed for bankruptcy last year just got a $27 million judgment against a Chinese company that fell through on a deal to acquire the company.

Flabeg Solar first filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in April of last year; it was later converted to Chapter 11 after its German parent company had financial trouble. It had gone through serious negotiations with Zhejiang Daming Glass Co., based in China, to acquire it through a plan for reorganization, according to Flabeg’s lawyer, Robert Lampl.
