A window parts distributor seeking reimbursement from its multiple insurers for the settlement of a lawsuit must show that damages occurred within its coverage period, a federal judge has ruled.

Sapa Extrusions, the manufacturer, sued its insurers for breach of contract, claiming that it was owed reimbursement for the payment of the settlement and its legal fees. However, the insurers dispute that Sapa was even covered at the time it allegedly began selling faulty products—the reason for which Sapa was sued.
