Rolf Larsen, the only Pennsylvania Supreme Court justice ever to have been impeached and removed from office, died Monday at the age of 79.
Larsen was ousted from the high court in 1994 as part of his sentence upon his criminal conviction on prescription-fraud conspiracy charges. While Larsen appealed the sentence, the state House of Representatives handed up seven articles of impeachment on a unanimous vote. In October 1994, he was convicted and formally removed from office on a 44-6 vote in the state Senate.
