Employment wage-and-hour and FLSA litigation have been booming on all three coasts of the United States, and Pennsylvania has not been immune to the uptick.

According to several employment attorneys who spoke with the Law Weekly, the state has seen a steady increase in Fair Labor Standards Act-related litigation over the past few years, fueled largely by discrepancies in state and federal laws. Although the growth has not been as significant as that seen in California, Florida and to a lesser extent New York, which have seen huge jumps in employment filings, attorneys said employers in a wide range of industries are seeing increased litigation.
