Longtime Drinker Biddle & Reath Chairman Alfred W. Putnam Jr. will hand over leadership of the firm next year to his second-in-command, executive partner Andrew C. Kassner, a number of sources have confirmed to The Legal.

The management transition, announced to the firm in a memo Sept. 16 and effective at the start of the firm’s next fiscal year Feb. 1, 2015, will also include the formation of a three-member committee of executive partners who will work with Kassner, those sources have said. The executive partners are said to be corporate and securities practice group Chairman Robert C. Juelke, litigation department Chairman Michael W. McTigue Jr. and government relations and regulatory affairs partner Mary Devlin Capizzi.
