Although a federal judge in Philadelphia called a business dispute between Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate and ABCO Laboratories “California-centric,” he held that venue was proper in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Since California-based ABCO made repeated contact with Cargill’s Lititz, Pa., headquarters—faxing orders for cocoa, for example—the federal court here has personal jurisdiction over the case, U.S. District Judge James Knoll Gardner of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania ruled.
