My practice has recently become unbearable. Clients text and email me constantly. Sometimes I think my entire day is spent texting and emailing. It has gotten to the point that I don’t want to practice law anymore. What, ethically, can I do?

There are several things a lawyer can do with clients, particularly clients who seem to want to communicate multiple times every day. Although modern technology has brought many benefits to the practice of law, it has also brought many curses. One of the major problems is complete and massive overcommunication. With communication to a lawyer being so easy through a text or email, clients will contact a lawyer on the spur of the moment when a thought pops into their mind.
