Have the new district judge standards of conduct changed the disqualification requirements for district judges?

The standard for disqualification is set forth in new Rule 2.11, which says a district judge shall disqualify himself or herself in any proceeding where the judge’s impartiality might reasonably be questioned. This language is similar to the language under the old Rule 8. It is interesting to note that in the Code of Judicial Conduct for common pleas and appellate judges, this mandatory “shall” was a major change, but for district judges the standard appears to be the same.
