Author’s note: My Nov. 18 article reflected that the Pennsylvania Supreme Court on or about Sept. 18 removed the prohibition against a judicial candidate personally soliciting money. When I wrote the article, I waited four or five weeks to see if there were going to be any changes or amendments. When there were none, the article was written sometime in late October.
It has come to my attention that on or about Oct. 31, the Supreme Court issued an order reinstating the prohibition against a judicial candidate soliciting contributions. Therefore, the old prohibition is still in effect.
